We are internationally known for excellence. We offer a wide range of Suzuki method-based instrument lessons, group classes, orchestras, and chamber music for all ages; an arts-based Preschool for children from three to five years old; Music Together classes for children from newborn to age four and their parents; and Orff classes for children from age four to age nine.

We are dedicated to the development of ability in all children. We teach according to the philosophy of Shinichi Suzuki, who has proven that particular talents are not inborn, and that all children can develop their abilities in music and other areas to a high level if they learn in the manner that they learned to speak their "mother tongue.".

Jeanette Welch

Bass

Jeanette received her BA in Music from the University of California at San Diego where she studied with Bertram Turetzky. She received an MA in Bass Performance at the University of Iowa under the direction of Diana Gannett in May 2000.

Kate Vos

Cello

Kate studied at the Preucil School for 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Music and long-term Suzuki Pedagogy training at Western Illinois University with Prof. Tanya Carey. Kate completed her Master of Music degree in cello performance at the University of Michigan where she studied with Anthony Elliott.

Jennifer Wagaman

Flute

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts from Luther College in Flute Performance and Music Management. She completed her Master of Music degree at the University of Northern Iowa in Flute Performance.

Lauree Christman

Piano

Lauree is a graduate of Dickinson State University (Dickinson, ND) where she studied piano and bassoon. She also holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Iowa where she studied with Kerry Grippe and John Sims. Lauree completed her Suzuki Teacher Training at the American Suzuki Institute in Steven’s Point, WI where her teachers included Haruko Kataoka, Doris Koppelman, Loraine Landefeld, Carole Bigler, and Valerie Lloyd-Watts.

Janet Ault

Viola

Janet received her BA in History from Ginnell College and her Bachelor’s Degree in music Education from Cornell College. She studied Suzuki pedagogy with Rebecca Sandrok, Doris Preucil, William Preucil, Sr., and John Kendall. Janet is now retired from teaching in the public school orchestra program in Mt. Vernon where she taught for over twenty years.

American Celebration of Music - China

Music Celebrations provides unique performance and educational opportunities to performing ensembles. The People's Republic of China is opening wide its doors to Western musical groups, which captivate large and enthusiastic audiences at all concerts.
