I started playing a stringed instrument yesterday, and I broke a string today. :\ I called in to find out if a replacement is in stock and, in addition to getting the information I was after, Rob understood that I was a noob to the instrument and helped me understand what I was looking at and the replacement string options which are available. He didn't have a the single string I was looking for (only sets) so he recommended I check in with a competitor. A+ communications and he didn't leave me without options. :)

My kids have been taking lessons at Bellingham Academy of Music and we have found the instruction and management to be outstanding. Sean has been working with one of my daughters on acoustic guitar and he's a fantastic teacher. My 8-year-old takes violin lessons with Joy and always comes home eager to practice and looks forward to her weekly lesson. I highly recommend Bellingham Academy of Music.

You would think that this store would have competitive prices on things and decent service now that guitar center is the main store for music. But nope, way overpriced and not very freindly. They have single picks I need but paying 1.25$ for one piece of plastic is outrageous. I don't know but bellinghams local scene has declined to a bare fraction of what it was.

The space is comfortable and welcoming. The music teachers are patient, knowledgeable and genuinely enjoy children. My child has been going there for almost two years and has made fantastic progress on her instrument, enjoys the lessons and loves her teacher. Other parents I know have signed their kids up with multiple teachers and a variety of instruments and have come away with the same reactions. I am really happy that Bellingham Academy of Music is in our community.

No complaints about the lessons themselves, but I was surprised that they would not reimburse me for a months worth of lessons, even though I canceled only days after the payment had been made and I had not yet taken a single lesson. I even offered to pay half, but they did not accept this. It's not the end of the world, but be warned that you have to time quitting just right (before you make the payment). They don't seem to give out any reimbursements.
