Music should be like a moon landing. The Columbus Music Academy teaches over 700 students of all ages and walks of life how to play musical instruments. The curriculum is clear and concise, with a solid grounding in the fundamentals of learning to read music, count and use proper technique on the instrument you choose to play.

The Instructors at CMA are chosen for their performance abilities as well as their unique capacity to plainly communicate their musical concepts to students. Abilities such as these are rare in Instructors and CMA maintains the highest standards by retaining only the top 5% of private studio teachers in central Ohio.The mission of CMA "is to provide music education and support services to help individuals achieve their musical goals."

Wes Miller

Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute & Beginning Brass

Wes holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Bowling Green State University where he was a student of Dr. John Sampen. While at BGSU, he performed in master classes for Don Sinta (University of Michigan), Fred Hemke (Northwestern University), and Claude Delangle (Paris Conservatory).

Russell Myers

Guitar, Bass, Drums

Russell Myers is co- owner of Columbus Music Academy and has been playing and performing music since the age of four. He started with percussion instruments adding piano, keyboards, guitar and composition at 16 to his musical talents.

Jane Watson

Violin, Viola, Cello

Jane Watson has studied, played and taught violin since the age of eight. Her musical studies include 8 years of violin study at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree; and 12 years of private study with such teachers as Robert Billups, Virginia Christensen, Ronald Konieczka and Robert Culver.

Emiline Ellis

Voice Lessons

Emiline is a private voice and piano instructor who holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Cincinnati Christian University, with a major in voice and a minor in piano. Other musical experiences include, choral participation and conducting, participation in Junior Music Experience as assistant coordinator and judge, classical and jazz performance experience as a vocalist and instrumentalist, as well as various church music experiences.
