Covington School of Music

Our music and dance programs include electric & acoustic guitar, electric bass, voice, piano, violin, viola, cello, trumpet, french horn, trombone, tuba, flute, clarinet, saxophone, drums, composition, choir, rock band, jazz band, string ensemble, preschool music, ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, creative movement, parent and tot, and summer music and dance camps.

The Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts (LAAPA) is a private academy of the performing arts offering music lessons and dance classes at our three campus locations in Covington, Mandeville, and New Orleans, LA. Our schools serve students and parents from the surrounding communities of New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, River Ridge, Harahan, Slidell, Madisonville, and Folsom, LA.

At LAAPA, we strive to make each lesson fun and enjoyable! We teach the songs, styles, and steps students are interested in learning! From classical, to rock/pop, jazz, blues, hip-hop, funk, christian, and more. At LAAPA, our primary goal is to provide students of all ages with only the finest in arts education. It is for this reason that all instructors on staff are university trained professionals in their respective areas of expertise.
