Piano lessons
Report
Piano lessons We offer piano lessons for students of all ages and abilities from beginners to very advanced students. We offer every style of piano lessons from classical, jazz and pop. We have students who want to play just for fun and students who wish to excel with the curricula of the North Shore Music Teachers Association and the National Piano Guild.
Voice lessons
Report
Voice lessons We have many students who take singing lessons at our school. Students sing all kinds of music from their favorite artists to classical arias. Our teachers have university training in music specializing in voice and sing everything from pop and jazz to opera. Our teachers all have performance backgrounds as well. Just a sample of what a student will learn in singing lessons includes how to breathe properly, how to increase their range, proper pitch, how to project and stage presence.
Violin & Cello Lessons
Report
Violin & Cello Lessons Our strings program offers private instruction in violin or cello. Our violin lessons start as young as age 5, though we generally advise that students take a few years of piano first. Due to the size of the instrument, most cello lessons start at 10 years of age or older. We offer private violin and cello lessons using the Suzuki method, which - unlike piano - we approve of for teaching strings.
Guitar lessons
Report
Guitar lessons Our lessons include acoustic, electric and bass guitar. We teach in number of styles including rock, american fingerstyle, jazz, pop, and chording. Our teachers have college or university music degrees so they know how to teach the proper theory and technique if a student is interested in rock or in classical. Guitar lessons at our schools are enhanced by the opportunity to perform solo in one of our recitals or with accompaniment.

I believe you've been telling my daughter "how to practice" for quite some time. As you know, it is very hard to get any information out of a child after lessons. It was a very informative and useful opportunity to sit down with you and get a complete overview of how to practice. Parents should be very strongly encouraged to attend. I only wish you would have had this seminar much sooner!

I am most thankful to you for the teaching you provide that goes beyond the keyboard. My boy has learned a lot about setting goals and then working towards them. Participating in Guild and Achievement in Music helped in that regard. I also think he has gained self-confidence through this piano experience and that is so important in everything he will do in life. Thank you so much for everything you have done.

My daughter spent many years taking voice and piano lessons at Five Hands Studio (4th grade through all of high school). Now she is in college, but we all recognize that her enjoyment of singing and playing the piano developed while at Five hands. She developed a strong understanding of music theory, but right now it is the LOVE of singing and playing that help her through the stressful days in college. The patience and skill the teachers and Rick show to their students is very unique. Low stress, but high success!

I have 2 kids learning to play the piano at Five Hands and it has been wonderful. My children had no prior experience playing musical instruments, so we decided to look for something around our house. They started in Sep of '19. Rick and his staff have been wonderful introducing the piano and other musicals concepts to my kids. They do not have to be taken kicking and screaming. My kids really enjoy going to their weekly lessons. I definitely recommend Five Hands for parents looking to get their kids introduced to a musical instrument.

My son started taking lessons at Five Hands at the age of 4. A brief "test lesson" demonstrated he was ready for proper lessons, and here we are 6 months later. he's playing Old MacDonald like a pro! (Among many other songs.) My son is now 5, and as you may know, 5 year olds aren't always the easiest people to deal with. Yet Five Hands brings an impressive professionalism to piano lessons while also making it very fun. We'll be taking lessons here for a long time to come.

My 10y.o. daughter has taken piano lessons at Five Hands Studio for 2.5 years. Rick is the owner/manager, and he works diligently to hire quality instructors, and also provides a level of reliability. The staff are all friendly, and deal very well with children. The focus is on making music lessons fun and encouraging students to do their best and challenge themselves.

The students I have observed really enjoy their lessons. There is also a recital 2x per year, which is a great opportunity for students to perform in a friendly and encouraging environment. We really enjoy being part of the Five Hands community!

One of our neighbors recommended Five Hands, and we couldn't have made.a better choice! Our daughter's piano teacher is gentle, firm, encouraging, challenging, and understanding all at the same time. The studio owner is great at talking with kids (and parents) about problems that arise in practicing-playing through frustration, dealing with boredom, striking a balance between note reading and playing by ear. A sense of joy about music has entered our household. Our younger child is now asking "when will I be old enough to start piano lessons?"

I am in my 20s, and I have never known anything about piano, but I have always wanted to learn it. My experience of learning piano at this age at Five Hands Studio has been amazing. The teachers are really nice and patient and the staff is always polite, welcoming and supportive. Not only I am liking what I am learning, but also happy that I am learning it from Five Hands Studio. If I have kids, I will send them to Five Hands Studio too.

My Grandson is only 4 1/2 years old, but was showing an interest in music. My son and I began looking for a studio that would evaluate and nurture his interest and his ability. Five Hands Studio was such a find! The atmosphere is professional but very friendly. The caliber of teachers is outstanding! The owner and music director, Rick Cinquemani, a professional musician himself, has an amazing rapport with the students ( of all ages) and is committed to sharing his love of music, and the lifelong benefits of music education.

We are there on Saturday afternoons and everyone is smiling! My grandson told me his teacher, Ms Cheng, wants him to practice piano every day! And he does! His goal is to play a Beatles song. ( his Dad's favorite) I am confident we made the right choice bringing him to Five Hands Studio. With time and practice, he just may achieve his goal. I would strongly recommend Five Hands Studio to any parent or grandparent looking to give their children music lessons!

Rick knows how to reach his students to be able to teach them effectively. Both of our children studied piano with Rick for 6 years. We feel Five Hands gave our kids a solid foundation in music education, which they utilized in many different musical settings. Rick gave them a very positive experience, and their progress was impressive. As musicians ourselves, we highly recommend Five Hands Studio.

Five Hands Studio has been amazing. Their philosophy delves deeper than just another extra curricular for my children. My children have learned some musical skills as well as skills to use in their everyday lives. Rick is amazing as the head of the studio. He makes sure the students are receiving the appropriate instruction. He also makes sure the teachers share the same philosophy. I would highly recommend taking lessons at Five Hands Studio!

Awesome studio! Our son started lessons when he was 7 / entering 2nd grade and has really enjoyed it. Michael is a wonderful and fun teacher and Rick, the owner, has a great philosophy about teaching that seems to work with the kids. Amazing balance of fun and discipline. Highly recommend it!

My 10 year old started piano lessons about 2 years ago and he loves them. They make it challenging and rewarding. The no stress recitals are so fun for the kids and it's really great for them to see all the different levels of progression. Another wonderful perk is the fantastic pool party Rick throws each summer.

I think this studio is awesome. I wanted to start learning to play the piano again for awhile, and I thought it would be hard to get back into it - but surprisingly it wasn't that bad. I looked at a few schools prior to finding this one, Five Hands did a good job making me feel comfortable right from the start. Rick made it very easy to get registered and is very accessible, although the studio is geared for a younger audience, it offers everything for an adult student.

It has professional yet down to earth teachers, good challenging coursework which is not overwhelming and a comfortably informal environment. I would highly recommend anyone to this studio to reignite your love for playing music.
