Piano and Voice Lessons
Having experienced the joy of teaching piano and voice to my students and watching them grow musically and in social skills, I wouldn't trade my career choice for any other! I love everything about teaching music. Learning to play or sing always builds poise and selfl-confidence, and I feel privileged to have that part in my students' lives.

NYU Master's Degree Candidate And at Independent composer in New York, NY
I took lessons with Dr. Laura Broughton for about 11 years. Many students don't last past 6 months when they take private music lessons, but Dr. Laura has a very special way of patiently working with students so that they don't feel rushed, anxious, or discouraged. Not only was I taught keyboard skills, but also music history, theory, musicianship, professionalism, and countless other skills. After getting my bachelor's degree from Yale, I matriculated at NYU to get a masters degree in composition (film scoring emphasis). Dr. Laura's effective teaching laid the groundwork for me to become the professional composer I am today, and I am very grateful.

................Amazing piano teacher! My children have had the privilege of taking private piano lessons from Dr. Laura for the last three years. She has proven to be a talented, dedicated, and passionate teacher of music. She maintains high educational standards and tailors lessons to meet individual needs. The quality of learning that my children have received is extraordinary! I love the fact that she challenges students beyond their comfort zone, developing high self esteem and achievement. Everyone agrees that Dr. Laura is energetic, kind, and has a warm personality that inspires! Thank you!

My son James started taking piano from Dr. Laura a little over a year ago. I've been very impressed with the rapid progress he's made. He really enjoys his lessons. Dr. Laura is a very understanding and patient teacher, and I think that her enthusiasm for music really encourages James to work hard. Overall, it has been a great experience, and I highly recommend her as a teacher.

Dr. Laura Broughton is the most enthusiastic and skilled piano teacher that I have ever met! It is no wonder why both of my children love music and Dr. Laura! She gives careful attention to each student, regardless of ability, choosing piano pieces that fit his/her personality and facilitate growth. For over eight years, Dr. Laura has taught my son and daughter not only how to play piano and read music, but how to share their musical talents with poise and confidence in various settings like church, retirement homes, recitals, and competitions. Dr. Laura's love of music is contagious, and she encourages her students every step of the way.
