I would recommend Val to anyone who wants to play guitar. He can teach you how to play rock, jazz, blues, and many other styles. He also has a great sense of humor. I learned rock and jazz with him and I feel I'm getting a great education.

As someone whose job requires travel from project to project, taking lessons back home was not easy for me. Finding Val here in Maine has made taking lessons during the week possible while away from home on assignment. I've made much more progress than I ever could doing it on my own.

I have been a student of Val's for 3 yrs. I started lessons with him as an extreme beginner with no musical background. Now I am at a level of playing where I can read music. I have a deeper knowledge of music theory, possess a chord vocabulary and I 'm able to improvise with nearly any type of Jazz/Blues style of playing. The lessons are fun, interesting and good humored while still being educational.

I'm a senior citizen who has just started taking lessons with Val. Not only is he a great musician and wonderful teacher he is extremely patient with an old guy. I enjoy and look forward to our lessons each week.
