People's Music School We create a world of harmony, creativity, and passion by fostering the universal language of music through free instruction and performance. We are the only free community music schools in the country. Students receive a comprehensive musical education on the instrument of their choice, with an emphasis on music theory.

The school believes that the study of theory provides an essential foundation for musical development. All students of the school are enrolled in a theory class at all times. Music theory is presented in age-appropriate classes with consideration for a student's mastery of the subject. New students who have little or no previous musical training are enrolled in beginning level theory classes. In these classes, students learn the basics of music notation, aural skills, and rudimentary theory.

I've been taking violin here for 4 years and it has been so much fun! I also did choir for a year and theory every year! This is the best way to learn how to play an instrument! Love it here!

Loved taking my nieces for lessons. Volunteering wasn't a bad experience

This music school, which doesn't charge students tuition, and has people waiting in line outside for a full week so that they can get their children (mostly) in to the program. Though it's had some publicity, it's mostly a hidden gem, and deserves all of the notice it can get.
