Renaissance Music Academy Private & Group lessons in Blacksburg, VA

The Renaissance Music Academy of Virginia is the oldest, largest, and most established non-profit community music school in southwest Virginia. Founded in 1993, the RMA offers serious study for ages 2 years old through adult. The RMA is recognized by the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts for its quality programs.

The RMA receives support for its programs from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. The school is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. The RMA has established a component fund at the Community Foundation of the New River Valley. This permanent endowed fund, named the "Frank and Shirleigh Marvin Scholarship Fund," provides scholarships to families demonstrating financial need and commitment to RMA programs.

Born and raised in the Midwest, she received her master of music degree in piano performance and pedagogy from Northern Illinois University as a student of Donald Walker. Ms. Ehrlich's other teachers have included Gyorgy Sebok, Menachem Pressler, and Leon Fleisher.

David Ehrlich was raised in Israel, where he studied violin with the famous Ilona Feher, teacher of Zukerman and Ashkenasi. From the age of 13 he became the recipient of an annual scholarship awarded by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation.

Susan Barrett began her piano studies at age 5, and at age 11 added cello, studying with Eugene Eicher, a student of Piatigorsky. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in piano performance (minoring in cello performance), studying with Lois McLeod, George Robert, and Joanna de Keyser.

Ariana Wyatt, originally from Southern California, is a recent graduate of the Juilliard Opera Center. Ms. Wyatt has performed Micaela in The Tragedy of Carmen for Opera Omaha and was a young artist at the Florida Grand Opera where she covered Leila in Les PĂȘcheurs de Perles and Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare.
