I love coming here for my musical needs. They have a good selection of instruments and accessories. That silver fox at the front desk AKA John is literally the coolest person ever. I love when he's working there because I know I'll have a good laugh. A laugh is guaranteed when he's on the clock. He's always super helpful and he definitely knows his stuff. Give this man a raise!

I like to get my music supplies here instead of online, just to support local business. But today I got a bonus when Stacy's replaced a defective string for free. I'll be back.

Overall nice store first time we were in the store it must have been a manager or owner who helped us - very helpful we knew we would be back However, when we were in today the employee let us know in actions and words that he didnt have time for us - if he treats all your customers this way you will lose business

We looked around a little and when I mentioned to my friend that I should get some picks, the friendly guy in there said we can take one or two free ones. It's the little things like that that make you feel like coming back. I have plans to be in the area so I'll definitely see if I can make time in my schedule to stop in and maybe get a mandolin for my brother or a ukulele for myself.

Best music shop in the area hands down. I've bought, sold, and traded quite a few guitars, amps, pedals, etc. and have also window shopped and made small purchases here in the past couple years and have always received genuine service and fair prices The manager, John, is extremely nice and honest. My most recent purchases have been a Jackson RR and an Epiphone SG and I couldn't be happier with them.

A friend suggested this music store while I was in the area. I was met by the manager, John, who could have sold me a new nut but after his quick evaluation we tweaked the neck action and voila- good as new. I found an honest man so I looked around and purchased new strings and a looper that I was shopping around for at Sweetwater et al thinking only about savings. but sometimes in the rush to save a buck we forget about that personal touch so because of the trust & friendly service I found my new music store while I am in Charlottesville. thanks John ~

These guys have always been very honest and very helpful. I've never actually spent more than $10 at a time there, and they have still talked to me about my guitars and helped me figure out what I need to do when one of them is messed up. They never try to up-sell, which makes a big difference IMO.

My son took fiddle lessons at Stacy's and we've been shopping there for years now. Great place for lessons. All the music teachers we've met there have been professional, good at their instrument, and good at actually teaching. Everyone is always warm and professional. The atmosphere is totally different from Cville's Music and Arts (where the staff usually seems annoyed to see customers and is notoriously difficult to communicate with).

At Stacy's, I get a warm welcome and professional service by phone and in person. Their guitar and violin repair services have been great for us. We've only needed minor things done. They've always been completed quickly and well. We've had them special order a guitar, amp, and other items. We've been happy with all our purchases. They can special order just about anything they don't happen to carry in the shop.

Scotty and John did a great job on my Stratocaster. They set it up perfectly for slide, replaced the saddles, and cleaned it out. It plays great now. Many thanks for their professionalism.

Decided to undertake the journey of leaning guitar. Instead of going to Music and Arts, I opted for a local place. I'm so, so happy I did thanks to Stacy's Music. John was extremely helpful and very nice. He not only recommended me the right products that fit my needs, but helped me get a deal that was very affordable. Stacy's is a reason as to why you should go local. Top notch service and will definitely go again!

Walked in to get a new violin string (the G-string). They were really backed up with repairs (people starting to play during the bad weather?) so he made a quick call to do the repair right then. He got the violin teacher to assist and they added the new string and tuned it and sent me on my way in short order. I liked that he had a pleasant attitude focused on solving the problem (my problem) quickly. Price was more than fair too.

I've been in the area for a few years, but haven't really found anyone to work on my guitars- until now. Very reasonable prices, and very good work! The owner and the tech he has on staff are very knowledgeable about the product they sell and work on, and in some cases, do the work on demand. Highly recommended!

I bought my first guitar at Stacy's in 1972 ( a Martin D-18 and they were on the downtown mall then) so you can say they have stood the test of time and still carry quality instruments! It's is a great small shop and I have bought guitars, basses, amps, and much more there over the years. They have experienced musicians on staff who listen and know how to help you. It's the music shop I go to first.and often!

The experience was soooooo enjoyable that the very next day, after I'd taught an ukulele lesson to Natasha Jahrsdoerfer's very gifted and charming Primary II class at North Branch Elementary School in Afton and then gifted them with a class ukulele, I returned to Stacy's to purchase another Makala Dolphin.

I graduated from UVa back in the day and spent this past weekend in Cville visiting my college roommate. Fate has led me to teach ukulele 3 times per week and also has given me the power to distribute about 1 ukulele every other month as part of my work for the Academy of Music in Norfolk, VA. One of my students wanted a black sparkle Makala Dolphin, which were out of stock down at the Beach. Happily when I phoned Stacy's they were able to put one on hold for me. Warm, courteous phone support!

When I shoed up the next day, they changed out my strings for free, and would've polished the fretboard if I'd remembered to ask them for that service.

This one is "PinkBurst" (most of my students in my Tuesday/Thursday classes for the Academy of Music are 3rd - 5th grade girls thus I keep 2 pink and 1 purple ukulele on hand at all times). Again great service, and including free string change (I prefer Low G Aquila bionylon strings b/c I used the James Hill Ukulele in the Classroom Curriculum) and friendly amusing banter. Definitely a great store. Highly recommend.
