We offer a variety of music lessons and classes for all instruments and voice. This wide selection is available so that everybody can benefit from some type of music instruction. In the area of lessons, we offer both Suzuki and Traditional approaches in many combinations. Students may study in private, semi-private or in family/group sessions in a variety of time allotments. We encourage families to consider taking lessons together as a valuable source of quality time for sharing, learning and enjoying music.
Emphasis is placed on reading and rhythm skills, theory, and intonation. We also offer a "gifted and talented" track with enriched lessons and a focus on general musicianship for those who qualify.

I have personally known Dr. Joan Spicknall, the Director of The Suzuki Music School of Maryland, for over 25 years and have had the honor of being on their board for the last several years. I am constantly impressed with her dedication and knowledge of the music industry and how dedicated she is to her students. It has been an privilege working with her and I look forward to continuing to work with her.

Both my children attended this music school. It provides a great learning environment, with good etiquette and discipline, while still leaving room for flexibility, personal preference and creativity. Children also have the option to learn the music they enjoy while still keeping up with the fundamentals, music theory etc. The school adapted very well to the complex teaching challenges of 2020, providing remote lessons.
