I hold my B.A in Voice from the University of North Texas. I was a member of UNT's A Capella Choir, ranked among the top five undergraduate choirs in the nation. I have worked with a range of vocal teachers from many backgrounds, from a metropolitan opera star to voice science academics to professional singer-songwriters.This breadth of experience and research over the last 11 years has enabled me to refine the art of teaching someone how to sing so that it is effective and feels good for the singer to do, no matter where they start. For me, seeing the joy on a student's face when they are able to stay in tune for the first time, or hearing their excitement on the phone when they tell me they've won a $20,0000 college vocal scholarship, makes it easy for me to say that I really love what I do!

Chris has helped me exponentially in many regards. In the short time I've taken lessons with him, Chris has already introduced me to the world of belting (healthfully of course) and has shown me singing techniques I had never heard of or tried before. He is also helping me explore my more dramatic side by incorporating expressiveness and emotions into my singing. I cannot thank Chris enough for the encouragement and support he's pouring out, enabling me to grow not only as a singer, but a performer as well.

As someone with only a small amount of vocal training and knowledge, I needed an experience that would cater to my current skill-level and encourage me to move forward. Chris made me feel completely comfortable and emphasized the importance of singing naturally. Chris offered me simple, concrete explanations of how the voice works and why we implement certain singing exercises - this makes our practice together fun and natural, and reveals the relative simplicity in applying certain vocal techniques.
He was very personable, consistently offered more explanation when needed, and invited me to help shape the lesson experience by asking for my input and feedback. Most importantly, he gave me real recommendations that I could start applying immediately! Chris is very knowledgeable - I would definitely recommend his services and plan to have more lessons with him!

This was the first time that piano lessons actually made sense to me! Chris walked me through the fundamentals in way that left the feeling like I actually had a relationship with the piano, that I could express myself through it with ease and brought the "play" back into learning to play. I've always felt self-conscious and shy about musical self-expression but Chris creates a gentle, warm, encouraging and deeply accepting environment that allowed my spirit to flourish. He's an exceptional teacher and it's an honor & pleasure to get to learn from him.

Chris has been an outstanding voice teacher for my daughter. She was excited but also nervous about taking lessons but he completely put her at ease. She has made tremendous progress in both her singing ability and her confidence and looks forward to every lesson. He is so talented at what he does and in making it fun for the students. Starting lessons with Chris is one of the best things we have ever done. We've had to take a temporary pause in lessons due to personal reasons but she can't wait to start back up again.

Chris is an amazing teacher with a very special skill set. Since starting lessons in June, I've come to understand my voice better and am hopeful that with continued work, I can become a better, stronger singer and build my confidence further. Chris communicates very openly and I feel very comfortable with him. As such, I am able to let down my guard, which allows our lessons to be fruitful and productive.
He gets to know not only my voice, but my obstacles (for example, to practicing) and tailors exercises to me and my current level. It is clear that he finds challenges interesting and is a natural problem solver. I'm just a casual singer, and haven't been especially regular about scheduling lessons (average of every three weeks, due to my work schedule); even so, I hear/feel improvement. Highly recommended! I wish I could send all my friends to see Chris!

My daughter and I highly recommend Chris! My daughter is a 9th grader in choir with a passion for performance in musical theatre. After her 1st lesson, my daughter immediately said, "Mom, he's REALLY good. I want to keep going to him." After the 2nd lesson, she said, "He's the first coach who I really feel comfortable with and who helps me feel more confident. I actually have fun during lessons and am learning so much already."

Chris is not your average music teacher. He has a real gift for teaching and an obvious calling to help people find their voice. It's not his "day job." During every lesson he is attentive, inspiring and supportive. And it seems like he knows what motivational issue I am having before I do. I've seen a lot of music teachers (mine and my kids') and he is truly amazing.

Chris is very observant and understands how to coach singers with precision. Every lesson left me with a better understanding of vocal mechanics and gave me specific exercises to improve my performance. I would recommend Chris to anyone because he engages at the individual level rather than treating his students as customers. If you have a specific dream, Chris will ask you about it and shape your instruction from there.

I always wanted to take voice lessons but never did out of fear. I'm so glad I found Chris! He eased me into singing and now I don't know why I was ever afraid! After just a few lessons, I'm noticing improvements in my voice and confidence when singing in front of others. Chris is down to earth, passionate about what he does, and an incredible teacher.
He makes learning fun and easy. I appreciate that he takes the time to get to know me and my voice so he can better coach me rather than using a one size fits all approach. This has been an awesome experience and I look forward to my lesson each week!

I love to sing and thought I could, but there was something lacking. Now, I am so proud of how I have progressed with the help of Chris. He has helped my confidence grow. Now that I have improved I am ready to move forward with recording in music studios. My voice has changed tremendously. I am so happy. Thank you Chris.

I would recommend Chris for singers of all levels of experience. He has helped me work on opera and musical theater pieces, and I have gained a much greater appreciation for the difference between dark and bright sounds. Chris has helped me work on rehearsal pieces and I have gone into rehearsals feeling much more confident than I used to.

I cannot recommend Chris highly enough. I have taken voice 5 or 6 times in the past, and he is by far the best teacher I have ever had. He is clearly extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and is a natural teacher. Excellent at putting you at ease, he first gets to know your voice and your musical preferences, and tailors his teaching to what is best for you individually.
His explanations, suggestions, and exercises are all clear and helpful. He also has a sense of humor, and knows how to make each lesson enjoyable and fun. I can't think of anything I would change, and I feel fortunate to have him as a teacher.

Chris was an excellent instructor for my daughter. She can be extremely shy and she had no issues at all Chris. She was comfortable with him and really has enjoyed the lessons she has been taking. Chris is extremely understanding and flexible when it comes to scheduling. His communication to me as a parent was second to none, I was always kept in the loop. Chris was so understanding with my 13 year old girl who has a love for show tunes!
He has a an incredibly vast knowledge of music and was able to suggest songs for my daughter that she had not been exposed to and she ended up loving. I would recommend Chris to anyone. in fact I have!
