It is with great pride and admiration that I extend my endorsement of Jenny Anderson (Virtuoso Music School) as a music teacher. I had the pleasure of first meeting Jenny in January of 2004. At that time, Jenny began teaching my two children, ages seven and nine, to play the piano. Jenny's unfaltering patience, work ethic, discipline, and structure have been instrumental in the successful development of my two children's musical talent.

My name is Alexandra Moore, and I have been a piano student of Mrs. Jenny Anderson for the past seven years. Prior to joining her music program, I took lessons from one of my neighbors. However, since becoming a student of Virtuoso Music School, my family and I have noticed significant improvement. Not only have I learned to understand the story a song is telling and play with my heart, but I have also drastically improved my knowledge of music theory, technique, sight reading, and ear training - areas I had not studied with my previous instructor.

Although Ms. Anderson teaches well, we left disappointed. My child couldn't come one week due to behavioral problems and we were force to cancel last minute. Although her policy states things about makeup classes, I was hoping she'd be understanding like we were with her and her issue the day she needed us to be. Instead of letting us take the next class in place of the other we missed, we were charged- but it was easy for us to rearrange our schedule for what she needed.

We were asked one day before her family had a funeral, to come in the next day (our schedule day) but at a later time. We rearranged our personal schedule and arrived the next day at the time she needed. Throughout our childs time being in lessons we received a constant "my students won this and that, and xyz". I had done research on this business prior to so constantly hearing it was a bother.

In text messages verifying lessons, the same would be stated which had nothing to do with the other. I'm proud of the accomplishments of the school but it is best to focus on one child at a time as it was a constant "I have over 50 students". After the incident with the missed day it was a "I'm sorry those are my rules". However, there is nothing in the contract that states she herself must give enough notice if a time/day needs to be changed if she or her family has any emergency.

That should be updated for the present/future parents/students. Some lessons felt rushed but my child learned a good amount because they take in details fast and well. I think she should give herself a few minutes break in between each student to ensure timing especially if she has so many students. On facetiming days there were very quick hang ups for the next student.

Its back to back to back no time in between the next. The lady prior to us always had questions before our lesson and ran at least up to 5 minutes into our time but yet you have to pay full price. For the first time in our very last lesson is when I felt she went slower in the process and really took her time -but it was too late as that was our childs last lesson.

It would've been nice to not feel any kind of "rush" from day one. Our experience was neither great nor bad. We appreciate the time to introduce our child to Piano. However, when it is time for our child to return to lessons, we have simply decided to look elsewhere, where the instructor, lessons, and contract will feel fair and the time not being or feeling rushed/chaotic.
