I had my Fender Strat in for a setup and re-string. The new setup is amazing! I played the guitar for hours, thoroughly enjoying the action and freshly oiled fretboard. Way better than Guitar Center! I will be doing business here from now on.

Do not bring your repairs to this establishment. Just received my amp back from another music store, finally fixed and restored to its original condition. Doc's west end music doesn't care about your gear, just wants your money. These are the facts. I recently took my Laney vc-30 tube amp to another music store to replace an effects pot "that Doc claimed to have replaced and charged me for." With a factory-original pot, all the knobs would finally match as per original specs.

After Doc's alleged repair, he claimed that the original knob wouldn't fit on the new pot he installed. Instead an oddball knob that fit, was a mismatch, was put on - as if the pot was replaced. The facts - "it was the original pot, and had never been replaced". The solder points were original to the factory and had never been touched (re-soldered).

The other music store also informed me, the tubes in my amplifier were all original tubes installed at the Laney factory in England during the manufacturing process. Doc charged me for a set of 7(seven) 4-power tubes and 3-pre amp tubes. The facts - "Doc never replaced the tubes." The drive channel sounds so good on this amp, now that the tubes were actually replaced. Doc also serviced my Gretsch electromatic guitar "twice" for an input jack that was supposed to be replaced - that never happened.

Because of Doc's West End Music taking money for work never completed, I have paid for this amp almost twice. Grateful to the other music store for fixing my amp on the first request and respecting my gear as I would expect from any reputable establishment. Doc is tarnishing his own brand and should not expect a paying customer to return over and over to be treated this way. Avoid this chop shop.

This is by far the best music store buying experience I've ever had. My mom and I went in to get new strings for a vintage parlor guitar that I have. Not only did Tom, the owner, help me pick out the right strings, when I asked to try a few of the ukuleles on display, he was happy to help, even tuning them before I played them. He was very knowledgeable and, even with other customers in the store, gave us undivided attention and answered all of our questions with a smile.

I was so pleased with my new strings (D'Addario Phosphor Bronze Custom Light) that we went back the same day to buy two more sets and add a strap button to the heel of the parlor guitar. Ira and Ryan went out of their way to help us out and answer our questions, even when lessons were going on elsewhere in the store. We ended up buying three straps as well as the strings. Great service, friendly vibe ~ all in all, 10/10. We'll definitely be back! :D

Mr. Matt is FANTASTIC. My 9 y/o started piano two years ago & from the very first lesson, it was a hit! Matt has a way of connecting with children to break down the logistics and concept of music. He makes lessons fun and his patience is noteworthy. We enjoy coming here so much, my 6 y/o recently started piano as well.

This is a wonderful little place! I was wanting a string replaced on my instrument. They didn't have the right one but he found another that worked n fixed it for me free of charge! The guy that owns it is a very friendly person who obviously loves what he does n is really good at it. And it's one of those rare places left where you get personal service from the one who knows what he's doing. I'm definitely going back there for any of my future music needs. I highly recommend!

Affordable quality work. Staff is polite and helpful. I had a setup done on an acoustic guitar and with the money I saved I was able to get premium strings and a gig bag for the same price other shops were charging for just the setup alone. I will be taking all my future guitar business to them.

Was shopping for a 'life-long friend' acoustic guitar that would accompany me forever. I was fixed on a particular high end name brand without previously playing one. West End Music had a good selection of acoustic guitars to choose from, both new and lightly matured. The store owner, Doc, allowed me plenty of time to get a feel serveral preferred models, but also took the time to discuss my requirements.

Would i be plugging in? What type of music do you play most often? He showed me the tonal qualities of different woods and construction. I eventually purchased a guitar that wasn't my preferred name brand, but WAS exactly right for me. Perfect feel; amazing sound; a 'keeper' for life. I'd highly recommend West End Music for anyone in the market from beginner to pro. You'll find a friend in that shop in more ways than you hoped to find.
