Ashley Peck

As a teacher, Ashley Peck has a wide range of experience. She has taught both cello and piano, children and adults, private lessons and group classes, beginners and advanced students. She is also a Suzuki Method certified teacher and member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.

Ashley believes that every person has musical abilities, and she aims to build on those abilities while strengthening any weaknesses. Her goal is to first get the student set up well with the instrument and build one skill at a time. In the same way that a baby learns to speak with one sound and word at a time, gradually working up to full sentences and paragraphs, the student cellist can learn first the bow hold, then a good tone on open strings and eventually a whole piece of music!
