We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization with funding support from major foundations, arts organizations, businesses and individual donors. It strives to make music accessible to all through need-based scholarships and an instrument loan program.

Crescendo Academy of Music offers private and group instruction in instrumental and vocal music from highly-qualified teachers and performers in Southwest Michigan. The academy provides opportunities for performances in a variety of local venues, lessons in music theory and composition, chamber ensembles and Music Together, a nationally recognized early childhood music program. Pre-school children through adults over the age of seventy are active in Crescendos programs.

Audrey Lipsey

Executive Director

Audrey Lipsey has been teaching violin for 39 years and has been the Executive Director of Crescendo since 2000. She was Associate Concertmaster for the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Audrey performs widely in the community with the following groups: Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra (Assistant Concertmaster), Opus IV String Quartet and the Renaissance String Quartet.
