Owner/operator Randall Sena has recorded and produced countless local projects and is well respected for his skillful recordings and friendly attitude and service.

Certain Sparks Music took over the location of Howlin' Byroon's Music Exchange on H Street, in the middle of Lompoc's historic downtown next to South Side Coffee. Certain Sparks Music has expanded to include a music store, repair, and PA rental.

These Guys are the Bomb, My Son learned so much from Randall and then helped his Band (Product 59) record their first EP...I also like the fact that they are so involved with the local musicans young and old....so if you have a young one wanting to learn music or older like me just wanting to refresh your talent head to Certian Sparks...you cant go wrong

I've been taking ukulele lessons with Mic for a little under three months, and I've absolutely loved it. He's very supportive and encouraging, and even though I'm not naturally a very musical person I've been learning things fast thanks to Mic's wonderful teaching skills. Certain Sparks itself has a wonderful friendly, welcoming atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff.

They were very quick to respond and very knowledgeable and even when I couldn't make it there at the set time, they were very patient and understanding. Mic, my guitar teacher, is personable, patient and extremely knowledgable. Whenever I go for my lesson and at my recitals, everyone from the shop is so friendly and encouraging. I love that this donates instruments and lessons to children who couldn't otherwise afford it through the Certain Sparks Music Foundation.

My son and husband both take music lessons here. The teachers at Certain Sparks are talented and experienced. As a teacher myself, I have very high standards and I am very pleased by the professional instruction my family is receiving. My son has Mic for drums and husband has Randall for guitar. Both my guys are doing superbly and I love hearing them practice at home.

There are so many great things I have to say about the whole Certain Sparks team from amazing recitals, to summer camps, concerts put on by local musicians, as well as the every week encouragement during lessons. I can't fit all the positive stuff I want to say in a short review, so go check them out and see for yourself.

Randall and Michael are the best dudes ever! They are talented luthiers and they know what they are talking about. they are friendly and always excited to have a good conversation while being attentive to what you come in for. I have never had any trouble getting what I'm looking for, or being informed about new shipments coming in. Made a few trades with them toward in store purchases; they are very fair and reasonable. Can't complain. There's nothing like going into a music store with employees that are passionate and just as excited about what you are working on as you are. Amazing environment and amazing staff. Friendly staff, highly skilled instructors and great selection of musical instruments. I was interested in learning how to play the ukelele. After getting a free 30 minute intro lesson, i was hooked and bought myself a ukelele and signed up for more classes. I highly recommend this place!

Certain Sparks is a jewel in the Lompoc community. They support not only local talent but all the kids in town. They have developed an alternative stage at the flower festival and feature local talent from young to old. They hold recitals on their own time for their students to show off their talent. The staff is superb and the patience they display when working with new kids is nothing short of super human. Randall has dedicated his life to helping our community bring art and music to Lompoc. Every Lompocian should stop by and meet Randall and his team and see how they make a difference every day.

What a gem Certain Sparks is in Old Town Lompoc! I just picked up my acoustic guitar after having it restrung and it sounds amazing. They also lowered the action so it's easier to play. Great customer service and price.

Got a Guitar as a gift from my cousin, wanted to try it out for the first time. Few strings were broken and needed a pick. So called the shop. Installed the strings, gave me a pick and a free first 30 minute lesson for $1.94. Great deal, great people and great shop. I saw other customers were happy coming in the shop
