We believe that by emphasizing good technique and high quality musicianship students derive a great deal of joy and confidence in their music making. Our goal is to help every student learn to play beautifully through the development of proper healthy technique and individual creativity.

We create an energetic environment for young people to discover the joy of music through the experience of learning how to play an instrument and performing with a rock band. The schools curriculum involves private lessons, a performing rock band program, and a state-of-the-art recording studio.

Douglas Niedt is a recording and concert artist with over 40 years of concert and teaching experience. Doug offers several types of guitar instruction: Private Lessons, Technique Tips, Summer Guitar Study, PLAY IT LIKE A PRO, University Lessons, and Musical Trainers.

We offer private instruction for many instruments. Lessons are typically half-an-hour long, one per week, and are taught in the studios here at Hoover. The lessons are one-on-one, a perfect compliment to ensemble instruction.
